We built LibertyPaw for the dogs who'd do anything for us, with the same loyalty, discipline, and made-in-America pride we live by.
How It Started
Two Black Belts, Two Dogs, One Mission
Long before LibertyPaw, we met in the dojo: David trained under Joseph's father, and years later Joseph became David's instructor. Karate taught us discipline, respect, and loyalty. Our dogs, David's Winston and Joseph's Max, taught us the rest.
It began with discipline.
Our friendship was forged in the dojo. David earned his 2nd-degree Kyokushin black belt training under Joseph's father; Joseph, a 4th-degree Kyokushin black belt, went on to become David's instructor. Two generations of training, one lesson drilled deep: you don't cut corners, and you protect the ones who can't protect themselves.
Bringing Winston and Max into our respective homes reignited that familiar feeling. They seamlessly crossed the line from pets to family, offering boundless devotion and asking for nothing in return but love, safety, and a place to belong.

Then Winston picked up the wrong bone.
One day David, a retired chiropractor who had spent his career developing supplements for people, caught Winston chewing a cheap imported plastic bone, one made with materials he'd never allow near his own family. A few months later he spotted his daughter's dog gnawing a similar plastic bone. That was it!
David came out of retirement, and together with Joseph, set out to build the pet brand we'd want for our own family: honest, made right here in the USA, and crafted to a standard we're proud to stand behind.

The Two Behind the Paw
David Spitz
Retired chiropractor and lifelong supplement developer, former EMT, pilot, and 2nd-degree Kyokushin black belt. Father of five, grandfather of three, and the reason every LibertyPaw formula is held to a human-grade standard.
Joseph Farzinzad
4th-degree black belt in Kyokushin karate and David's karate instructor, raised in a family business where your name is your word. He brings the discipline of the dojo to everything LibertyPaw makes.
