David M. Spitz, DC — retired chiropractor and co-founder of LibertyPaw

Dr. David M. Spitz is a retired chiropractic physician with more than 40 years in health and wellness. From 1982 to 2022 he was the founder and clinic director of the Chiropractic Health Center of Bristol in Bristol, Connecticut, where he used his skills in biomechanics, neuromuscular health, and preventative wellness to treat thousands of patients — from neck and back pain to migraine headaches — with a specialization in whiplash and back injuries.

A graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College (class president), Dr. Spitz is a diplomate of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, a fellow of the International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture, and completed a three-year post-graduate course in neurology. He was licensed as a Chiropractic Physician in Connecticut and New York.

Long before LibertyPaw, Dr. Spitz was formulating supplements for people. In 1999 he founded EarthTurns, an online store for American-made health products, and in 2012 he founded StoneAge Wellness, a human supplement brand for which he personally formulated products including a natural muscle relaxant and sleep aid.

When Dr. Spitz retired in 2022 after four decades of patient care, his dog Winston became his full-time companion — and the reason he came out of retirement, at least in spirit. Applying the same principles he'd used with human patients — joint and mobility support, clean ingredients, and prevention over reaction — he co-founded LibertyPaw in 2025: an online pet supply store that only sells American-made dog and cat products.
