Which dogs is it best for?

Outlet note: the K-9 I is designed for a standard 15-amp outlet — no dedicated 20-amp circuit required. If your space already has a 20-amp circuit and you want maximum professional power, step up to the K-9 II or K-9 III. One heads-up: on a 15-amp GFCI outlet (the kind with Test and Reset buttons, common in bathrooms and laundry rooms), the K-9 I may trip it.
Warm air, no heating element
Here’s what surprises most first-time buyers: a K-9 dryer has no heating element. The warmth you feel comes from the motors themselves as they run; unlike a human hair dryer, there’s no hot coil heating the air. It’s high-velocity airflow, not heat, that does the real work: it pushes water out of the coat and lifts loose undercoat for fast drying and easy de-shedding, while keeping hair from drifting all over your home. As with any dryer, keep the airflow moving, keep it away from the face, eyes and ears, and pause if your pet seems uncomfortable.
Built to last — and easy to maintain
The K-9 line is built from fabricated metal for years of real use, and it can be wall-mounted to keep it up and out of the way in your grooming station or garage. Maintenance is simple. The manufacturer says to rinse the air-intake filter and let it dry after every use, and to replace the carbon motor brushes once 50–75% of each brush has worn away; waiting longer can damage the motor. A drop in power is a common sign the filter or brushes need attention.

What’s in the box
Each K-9 I ships with a flexible 10’ hose, a snap-on air-intake filter, a flat blower tip, a round blower tip, and an owner’s manual. This model is 120V for U.S. outlets; the manufacturer does not make it in a 220V version.
Frequently asked questions
Will it trip my breaker?
Not on a standard 15-amp circuit — at 14.5 amps the K-9 I is built for one. A 15-amp GFCI outlet (Test and Reset buttons, common in bathrooms) may trip. (The larger K-9 II and III need a dedicated 20-amp circuit.)
Is there a heating element?
No. The warmth comes from the motors as they run. It’s the airflow, not heat, that dries the coat.
Can I use it on my cat?
Yes. Many cats do great with a K-9 dryer — on a dual-motor model you may only need one motor, and on a variable model simply dial the airflow down.
How is it different from the Mini or Fluffer?
Those are single-motor portables for small dogs and quick jobs. The K-9 I adds a second motor for much stronger airflow on full-size and double-coated dogs.
What does the warranty cover, and how do I get a repair?
The manufacturer, Electric Cleaner Company, guarantees its products against defects in workmanship and/or motors for two years from date of purchase, and all other parts for 90 days if the motor-turbines have not been taken apart or tampered with. Returns, exchanges & shipping
K-9 dryers are built and shipped by the manufacturer, Electric Cleaner Company, in Wisconsin. All refunds, exchanges and repairs on K-9 dryers are decided by the manufacturer, so these terms apply to dryers in place of our standard return policy:

30 days: a dryer may be returned or exchanged within 30 days from the date of purchase.

Condition: to be eligible for a full return or exchange, the dryer must be unused, in the same condition you received it, and in its original packaging.

Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Restocking fee: a 10% restocking fee applies to returned dryers.

Exchanges: the cost to ship the replacement will be invoiced to you and must be paid before the replacement order is fulfilled. The shipping cost of the original order will not be refunded.

Repairs: defects are covered by the manufacturer's warranty (2 years on workmanship and/or motors, 90 days on all other parts).
