American-Made Dog Beds & Pads

We're David and Joe of the LibertyPaw family — real pet parents who curated this bed collection from American Dog, a small American manufacturer building dog beds in two proprietary lines: Furvana™ (plush comfort) and Armor™ (chew-resistant ballistic). Every bed below is an American-made dog bed — supportive foam base, removable washable cover, orthopedic-supportive bolster sides, and sized from XSmall (for cats and small dogs) up through XLarge (for giant breeds).

From durable orthopedic dog beds built for senior dogs and aging joints, to premium heavy duty crate pads and chew-resistant Armor™ covers for puppies and rough sleepers, our collection covers every household. Multi-species: many of our beds are explicitly cat-friendly too. And 2% of each sale is donated to Veteran Service Organizations, like K9s For Warriors, that train rescue dogs as service dogs for veterans with PTSD.

Why "Made in USA" Matters for Where Your Dog Sleeps

Your dog spends 12 to 18 hours a day on their bed. That's more time pressed against the materials than against your couch, your floors, or you. Cheap imports too often arrive with a chemical smell — off-gassing from the foam, the dyes, the adhesives — and a few months later the bolster goes flat. Our American-made dog beds and pads are different. Every bed on this page is built in the USA by American Dog, a small manufacturer that's been crafting dog beds in two proprietary product lines — Furvana™ (comfort) and Armor™ (chew-resistant) — with materials we'd put under our own pets.

Most bargain dog beds at the big-box stores are mass-produced overseas with thin polyfill that flattens in months, sealed-pillow covers that can't be washed, and the kind of foam that smells "like a new car" for weeks. Our durable orthopedic dog beds are different. Every bed in this collection is:

  • Hand-crafted in the USA by American Dog — not relabeled imports, and not foam shipped in a vacuum bag from overseas
  • Built with Furvana™ or Armor™ construction — one for comfort-first sleepers, the other for heavy chewers and rough sleepers
  • Designed with orthopedic support — supportive foam base with bolster sides that cradle joints and aging hips
  • Made with removable, washable covers — throw the cover in the wash, the bed keeps its shape
  • Available in 5+ colors and four to five sizes — XSmall through XLarge, fits 8-pound dogs through 100+-pound dogs

⭐ Our Top Seller: The Round Bolster Furvana™

Hand-crafted by American Dog — the bolstered, plush, orthopedic-supportive round bed our customers keep coming back for. The Furvana™ construction wraps a supportive foam base in a soft, plush cover; the bolster sides cradle the head and shoulders for that "sleeping in a nest" feel. Available in 5 colors (Black, Camel, Charcoal, Olive, Midnight) and four sizes from Small through X-Large.

Two Bed Lines We Build Around

Every bed in this collection comes from one of two proprietary construction lines — pick by your dog's sleep style and what kind of pressure the bed needs to survive:

☁️

Furvana™ (Comfort Line)

Plush, soft-cover beds built around a supportive foam base. The category for cuddlers, senior dogs who need joint support, and pets who like to sink into their bed. Available in round bolster, rectangle bolster, round base, rectangle base, and crate-pad formats. Multi-species: cats love these too.

🛡️

Armor™ (Heavy-Duty Line)

Ballistic-fabric cover over the same supportive foam base. The category for chewers, scratchers, and dogs who tear through bedding the first night. Same orthopedic support as the Furvana™ line, but with a cover designed to survive teeth and claws. Available in round bolster, round base, rectangle, and crate-pad formats.

How to Pick the Right Bed for Your Dog

A bed should be big enough for your dog to stretch out, supportive enough for their joints, and durable enough to survive their nighttime habits. Here's the framework we walk customers through on the phone:

1. Measure your dog stretched out, then add 6″

Get a soft tape measure and measure your dog from nose to base of tail while they're stretched out on the floor (or close to it — eyeball it if they won't cooperate). Add 6″ in each direction to give them room to fully extend without hanging off the edge. Then compare to our bed dimensions: XSmall (21×18) for tiny dogs and cats, all the way up to XLarge (46×36) for giant breeds.

2. Pick comfort line (Furvana™) or heavy-duty line (Armor™)

If your dog is a calm sleeper who likes to burrow and cuddle, the Furvana™ comfort line is the right call — plush, cozy, and supportive. If your dog chews their bedding, scratches at the cover before settling, or has destroyed past beds, the Armor™ heavy-duty line is built to survive that abuse with the same orthopedic support underneath.

3. Bolster or base?

Bolster beds have raised sides — the "nest" shape. Most dogs love them; they cradle the head and shoulders, give a sense of security, and senior dogs especially benefit from the bolster as a head rest. Base beds (no bolster) are a flat mattress — better for dogs who stretch out wide or hot sleepers who don't like the enclosed feel.

4. Don't skip the crate pad if you crate-train

If your dog spends time in a crate (puppy training, travel, vet visits, or by preference), a crate pad is non-negotiable. Wire crate floors are hard on joints and prone to causing calluses on elbows and hips over time. Our crate pads come in both Furvana™ (soft) and Armor™ (chew-resistant) versions in standard 22″ crate-fitting sizes.

How Our Beds Compare to Bargain Imports

The differences in construction are real, and they show up in how long the bed lasts and how well your dog actually sleeps on it.

Materials We Trust (and What We Won't Use)

Every bed in this collection is built around the same American-made foam core, with one of two cover constructions. A few of the details worth knowing:

Supportive foam base: American-made foam that resists flattening over time. This is what makes a bed actually orthopedic — not just plush, but supportive under the dog's weight where their joints contact the bed.

Furvana™ plush cover: Soft, cozy, machine-washable cover for the comfort line. Wraps around the foam core and zips off for cleaning.

Armor™ ballistic cover: The same ballistic-nylon family used in heavy-duty tactical gear, repurposed as a dog-bed cover. Designed to survive chewing, scratching, and the kind of rough use that destroys cheaper beds in a week.

Replaceable covers: Both lines have removable covers that wash and replace. The foam core lasts; the cover is the part that takes the wear.

What we won't sell: sealed-pillow beds you can't wash, shredded-foam fill that clumps and flattens, the cheap foam that off-gasses for weeks, or any bed we couldn't trace to a U.S. manufacturer.

😻 A Note for Cat Families

Several of our beds are explicitly cat-friendly — including the Round Bolster Furvana™, Crate Pads Furvana™, and the 'Hope' Round Bolster Furvana™. The Furvana™ comfort line is naturally a fit for cats: plush, low-profile bolster sides, soft cover. Pick the smallest size (XSmall or Small) for cats and small kittens.

The Armor™ line works fine for cats too, but it's overkill for most felines — the ballistic fabric is built to survive chewing, which cats don't typically do to bedding. If you have a multi-pet household (dogs and cats sharing the same bed), the Armor™ line is the safer durability bet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size bed should I order?

Measure your dog stretched out from nose to base of tail, then add 6″ in each direction. Compare to our size chart on each product page (XSmall 21″×18″ through XLarge 46″×36″). Senior dogs and dogs with joint issues benefit from going one size up for extra room to stretch and shift overnight.

Furvana™ vs Armor™ — which line is right for my dog?

Furvana™ is the comfort line: plush, cozy, soft to the touch. Pick it for calm sleepers, senior dogs, and pets who like to burrow. Armor™ is the heavy-duty line: ballistic fabric cover over the same supportive foam, built to survive chewing and scratching. Pick it for puppies, dogs who've destroyed past beds, or multi-pet households.

How do I wash the bed?

The cover zips off and machine-washes on a gentle cycle in cold water. Air-dry or tumble-dry low. The foam core does not get washed — if the foam ever needs cleaning, spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Replacement covers may be available; email us if you need one.

Are these beds good for senior dogs with arthritis?

Yes. The supportive foam base provides orthopedic support without being too firm. Senior dogs and dogs with joint pain often benefit most from the bolster styles — the raised sides give a head rest and create a sense of security that helps anxious or aging pets sleep deeper. If you're not sure which style fits your senior dog, give us a call.

Can my cat use these beds?

Yes — several products are explicitly multi-species (the Round Bolster Furvana™, the Crate Pads Furvana™, and others). The Furvana™ comfort line is naturally cat-friendly; pick the smallest size for kittens and adult cats.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes — we offer a 30-day happiness guarantee on every order. If a bed has manufacturing defects in the first 30 days, email shop@libertypaw.com and we'll make it right. We don't cover damage from chewing on the Furvana™ comfort line (that's what the Armor™ line is for).

Pair Rest with Recovery

An orthopedic bed is half the equation for senior or anxious dogs. The other half is what they take by mouth — calming chews for nervous sleepers, joint support for aging dogs, multi-nutrient daily supplements. Browse our American-made supplement line to complete the set.

Comfort & Safety Note

Inspect your bed regularly. Even the most durable bed wears over time — check the cover stitching, the foam (it should still spring back when pressed), and the zipper if removable. Retire any bed with compromised structural support; senior dogs especially can be hurt by sleeping on a flattened-out bed. Wash covers regularly to keep allergens, dander, and oils from building up.
